1. Maryland Mountain & Quartz Valley Open Space

You’ll encounter scenic overlooks of Black Hawk, Central City, and the broader Gilpin County area. There are gentle switchbacks, shaded forest sections, wildflowers in warmer months, and some satisfying elevation gains that offer panoramic payoffs—without being too intense.
